More than four years ago, Amy Lowe and her husband, Dave, moved to Chicago to be closer to family. But after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, Dave found himself unemployed — a predicament that would last for 18 months. During that time,Amy’s mother, Betty Seaman, generously shared her 900- square-foot house with the couple and their infant daughter.“My mom’s constant love and support was the only thing that got us through,”Amy says.“My mom is not rich by any means, yet she gave and gave and gave and still does today.”
