JACKSONVILLE, NC: Elderly Woman Desperate to Save Family Home
Jessie Mills, 87, moved into her home 66 years ago and still lives there today. Needless to say the decades have taken a toll on the home and it is in need of some major repairs.
“My mom moved into her home in 1946 and wishes to die there, however the elements and hungry termites are working against her,” Mills' son, Bill, wrote in his nomination letter to the Angie’s List Wishmakers.
The elderly mother of three sons, all of whom live out of state, has diabetes and is slowly going blind. Despite her failing health, she retains a youthful spirit; happy and grateful for any help that is offered.
On behalf Ms. Mills we are asking for your help. Are you willing to be a Wishmaker and assist with any of the following projects?:
- Replacement of windows and doors
- Replacement of wood floors
- Various plumbing
- Various electrical
